Led by Texas Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Office of Governor Greg Abbott, the mission is designed to carry the message that companies can “Go Big in Texas” among an audience of corporate executives, site selectors and others involved in expanding and relocating businesses.
Forbes ranked the Lone Star State No. 1 in the nation for Growth Prospects, thanks to strong job, income and gross state product growth forecasts.
Texas ranked No. 1 for Growth Prospects in Forbes’ Best States for Business 2018 based on favorable growth forecasts for job, income and gross state growth. Right on the heels of this announcement, the Bureau of Labor Statistics published a report that solidified this strong ranking, indicating that several Texas metros saw the largest over-the-year employment increases as of October 2018.

AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott today attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Cognizant's new regional technology and service delivery center in Irving, Texas. Announced in November 2017, this new 50,000 square foot facility will create over 1,000 new jobs and $8 million in capital investment. Cognizant currently employs approximately 4,100 people in Texas, including the company’s U.S. operations headquarters located in College Station.
