Texas Forbes Growth Prospects

Texas was ranked the No. 1 State in the Nation for Growth Prospects in Forbes’ 2018 list of Best States for Business.

This ranking is based on favorable growth forecasts for job, income and gross state growth. Right on the heels of this announcement, the Bureau of Labor Statistics published a report that solidified this strong ranking, indicating that several Texas metros saw the largest over-the-year employment increases as of October 2018. In support of this data, Texas boasts 27 consecutive months of job growth. Forbes also notes that startup activity and venture capital investments are key indicators of this ranking, utilizing data from Thomas Reuters and the Kauffman Foundation.
