These qualities continue to propel manufacturing in Texas, attracting billions in global investment and helping companies invest, build, and scale for long-term success.

The Companies Doubling Down on the Lone Star State’s Momentum

From semiconductors to pharmaceuticals, these five firms are making their mark on manufacturing in Texas:

GlobalWafers—Semiconductor Hub in Sherman

Taiwan-based GlobalWafers is investing more than $3.5 billion to build a plant that produces 300 mm wafers, including the first U.S. production line of its kind built in over 20 years. The facility will employ hundreds of engineers along with skilled workers at all levels, and play a key role in Texas driving semiconductor chip protection and strengthening America’s supply chain.

Eli Lilly and Company—$6.5 B Biomanufacturing Campus in Houston

Eli Lilly is developing a $6.5 billion active pharmaceutical ingredient campus in Houston’s Generation Park. The site is expected to produce more than 600 full-time jobs and anchor a growing life-sciences corridor in the region.

Siemens AG—Electrical Equipment Facility in Fort Worth

Germany’s Siemens AG recently opened a $190 million electrical equipment plant designed to support AI infrastructure and help advance the future of manufacturing. The facility is projected to create as many as 800 jobs and further strengthen Texas’s position in advanced manufacturing.

JCB Inc.—$500 M Construction-Equipment Plant in San Antonio

U.K. equipment manufacturer JCB is building a $500 million facility in San Antonio, citing the area’s central U.S. location and supply chains/workforce, as well as a strong education and technical trade system, as key reasons for building here. The 400-acre site will support around 1,500 new jobs, marking one of the largest U.K. manufacturing investments in the U.S.

AstraZeneca PLC—$445 M Pharmaceutical Expansion in Coppell

AstraZeneca is investing $445 million to expand its Coppell plant, doubling capacity for its kidney-disease drug Lokelma. This expansion significantly expands AstraZeneca’s worldwide supply capabilities while showcasing Texas’s growing importance in the pharmaceutical industry.

Why These Expansions Matter

Billions in Investment and Thousands of Skilled Jobs

The combination of these five projects alone represents more than $11 billion in new investment and thousands of high-skill jobs across Texas. These investments highlight the ongoing manufacturing growth in Texas, creating opportunities for workers and suppliers alike.

Strengthening Supply Chains and U.S. Competitiveness

Shifting production to the U.S. enables these companies to rely less on overseas suppliers, strengthen domestic manufacturing resilience, and support key sectors such as semiconductors, energy, and life sciences.

Why Texas? Manufacturing Is Easier Here.

Texas combines a vast supply-chain ecosystem with an abundant energy supply and a deep workforce in advanced manufacturing. Access to ports, rail, and highways connects producers to markets across North America and beyond, a formula that continues to draw record levels of international investment. In short, global companies are thriving in Texas because manufacturing is easier here.

Texas now stands as a top global hub for industrial growth, connecting innovation, logistics, and workforce strengths in a way few regions can match.
