Governor Abbott Meets With OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd. and OKI Data Corporation Executives In Tokyo, Japan

Governor Greg Abbott today met with OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (OKI) and OKI Data Corporation executives, including OKI President and Representative Director Shinya Kamagami, to discuss expanding the relationship between the company and the state of Texas. Governor Abbott expressed his appreciation for the company's investment in Texas and its partnership with the Irving Economic Development Corporation, which helped bring OKI Data Americas, Inc. headquarters to Irving, Texas in 2016.

“OKI is an innovative leader in the global marketplace whose investments in Texas have helped grow and diversify our economy,” said Governor Abbott. “I thank OKI for its partnership and I look forward to working with them in the future to bring more investment and jobs to the Lone Star State.”

Shinya Kamagami has been President and Representative Director for OKI since 2016. Kamagami has also held the roles of General Manager, SVP and Chief Technology Officer since joining the company in 1981.

OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and sales of products, technologies, software and solutions for telecommunications systems and information systems, including IT services distribution and constructions related to these businesses. The company is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, and has 17,930 employees and a capital of approximately $406 million. OKI is the parent company of OKI Data Americas, Inc., which manufactures printing technology and provides end-to-end business support and applications. In 2016, the company relocated its OKI Data Americas headquarters from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, to Irving, Texas.
