Texas ranked No.1 for growth prospects in 2018 by Forbes

Forbes ranked the Lone Star State No. 1 in the nation for Growth Prospects, thanks to strong job, income and gross state product growth forecasts.

Texas ranked No. 1 for Growth Prospects in Forbes’ Best States for Business 2018 based on favorable growth forecasts for job, income and gross state growth. Right on the heels of this announcement, the Bureau of Labor Statistics published a report that solidified this strong ranking, indicating that several Texas metros saw the largest over-the-year employment increases as of October 2018.

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, the nation’s largest over-the-year employment increases occurred in Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, Dallas, and Fort Worth-Arlington. Additionally, the largest over-the-year percentage increases in employment in these large metropolitan areas occurred in Austin-Round Rock and Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land. Finally, Midland, TX saw the largest over-the-year percentage gains in employment.
