AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has chosen San Antonio as the location of a new client service delivery center for its Financial Services Organization. EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services with firms in approximately 150 countries around the world and more than 40,000 employees across the United States. The new client service delivery center will include a capital investment of more than $10 million and the creation of 600 new jobs in San Antonio, Texas.

Stanley Black & Decker announced plans on October 31, 2017 to open a new manufacturing facility in Mission, TX. The world’s largest tools and storage company has signed a lease on a nearly 300,000 square-foot facility that will eventually support approximately 450 new jobs in the region. The facility, which will make DEWALT power tool products, is expected to begin operations in early 2018.

During the ceremony the Governor spoke about Texas' thriving economy and thanked Ashley Furniture Industries for their investment in the state and the city of Mesquite.
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that Brakebush Brothers, Inc. will build a new 315,000 square foot processing plant in Greenville, TX. Brakebush Brothers is a family owned business, which has been in operation for 92 years as a processor of chicken products. This new facility is expected to create over 800 jobs in Greenville’s Park West industrial park and will be the second Texas location for Brakebush Brothers. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant offer of $780,000 has been extended to Brakebush.

Texas led the nation in GDP growth during the first quarter of 2017 at 3.9 percent. The Lone Star State also had the largest gain in nonfarm payroll employment in June with an increase of more than 319,000 jobs.
Governor Greg Abbott today attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Charles Schwab's new 70-acre campus in Westlake, Texas. The new campus is expected to create 1,200 jobs and is set to open in 2019. In his remarks during the ceremony, Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude for Charles Schwab's continued investment in Texas.

Texas has the best business climate in the country, according to a new survey of U.S. corporate executives from Development Counsellors International (DCI). Florida is the runner up, followed by Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The Lone Star State reports its 14th consecutive month of growth.
The Texas economy expanded with the addition of 5,500 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs in August. Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.2 percent, down from 4.3 percent in July. Annual employment growth for Texas was 2.5 percent, which was more than double the annual growth rate set the previous year.
Global Location Trends: 2017 Annual Report
Texas ranks No. 1 for job creation by foreign and domestic investment projects, according to IBM's 2017 Global Location Trends report. The annual report, which monitors trends in corporate location selection around the world, reports that global foreign direct investment levels increased significantly in 2016, by approximately 10 percent, measured by the number of jobs created.
